Osteoporosis

We’ve all heard about it. We know the best treatment for osteoporosis is prevention. Weight-bearing exercise as well as adequate calcium consumption can lower the risk of suffering from the disease as we age. And if that’s not enough, television commercials tout the latest drugs available to prevent brittle bones.

But even though we have the latest medical information available at our fingertips, there’s something most of us don’t know about osteoporosis. Most of the calcium supplements available at stores are not complete bone food and many are processed in a way that makes it impossible for the body to absorb them.

The dairy industry sings the praises of milk; it does a body good, we’ve been told. Unfortunately, the calcium in milk is altered in the pasteurization process in such a way that the body can’t efficiently use it to rebuild or replenish bones.

There are supplements available. At Synergy Center, we teach you how to make sure the product you’re purchasing has been processed in such a way to retain full potency and is something your body can absorb and use.
